Premig Information:Premig is used for migraines and the prevention of nausea and vomiting. It treats the symptoms associated with migraine. These symptoms include nausea, headache and vomiting. It is a non-steroidal drug and doesn’t cause inflammation. Premig consists of two active ingredients, which are lysine acetylsalicylate and Metoclopramide. Lysine acetylsalicylate is commonly known as Aspirin, and acts as a painkiller. Aspirin belongs to the group of medicines which are both non-steroidal and non-inflammatory. The other ingredient, Metoclopramide, is useful for treating the sickness and vomiting accompanying the migraine. Both ingredients are used together because metoclopramide enhances the absorption of aspirin, which can otherwise be slowed due to gastric stasis. It is recommended that Premig should be taken as soon as possible when a migraine attack begins, for maximum effectiveness. This is because the absorption of Acetylsalicylate lysine can be slowed during migraine attacks because of their severity. The effective dosage of Premig is 3 sachets a day. However, you can take varying doses in accordance with what has been prescribed by your doctor. It is highly recommended that the doses should not be exceeded for increasing effectiveness, and the prescription should be followed exactly. Before obtaining a prescription, you should tell the doctor about your exact medical conditions and whether you are allergic to any ingredients. If you are taking insulin, Phenobarbital, Amobarbital, herbal medicines, vitamins or any other painkilling medication, you should inform the doctor. This article is for informational purposes only.
