Zomigon is one the most effective and most recommended medicines for the treatment of migraine. It is especially designed for treating serious migraines. It belongs to the family of medications known as triptans.
 
This drug constricts blood vessels and thus relieves the pain caused by migraine. Migraine headaches are normally believed to be caused by dilation of the blood vessels in your brain. Although zolmitriptan is very useful in relieving migraine headaches, it does not stop or lessen the frequency of headaches if it is taken prophylactically. It can also lessen substances in the body that cause headache pain, nausea, sensitivity to light and sound, and other migraine symptoms.

It is also helpful to treat severe migraine headaches. According to most users, they find that their headache disappears almost completely after taking this drug. Others find their pain much relieved after using it, and they can thus get back to normal affairs of life with its help, although the pain does not completely vanish.

Zomigon will help to treat a headache that has already started. It does not heal migraines but relives the pain and the symptoms attached to it. There are many changes in the brain that are associated in the development of migraine attacks. Migraines result from nerve movement and swelling of the blood vessels in the brain. This drug acts at many of these sites, which are believed to be involved in causing migraine symptoms. The recommended dosage is 2- 5 mg per day or as recommended by your doctor. For best results, you should take Zomigon as soon as the first signs of a migraine attack appear. This medication is not meant for the prophylactic therapy of migraine or for use in the treatment of hemiplegic or basilar migraine. You must remember that Zomigon is not a painkiller for other purposes. For this reason, you should not take it for other pain or headache besides serious migraine.

Like all drugs, Zomigon also has some side effects. Pain or tightness in the chest or throat, tingling sensations, flushing, weakness, dizziness, abdominal discomfort and sweating being some of them. Although these side effects are mild and occur occasionally, to be cautious, you should take your doctor’s advice before starting this drug and also inform him if you experience any of these side effects
